Worker Safety During Construction of the Golden Gate Bridge

When construction began on the Golden Gate Bridge in 1933, concern for worker safety was a rarity.  This video highlights the vision of Joseph Strauss, the chief engineer in charge of overall design and construction of the bridge project.  Strauss incorporated safety measures on a scale never before conceived in the construction industry.
